NITIE 2012

NITIE 2012 - National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), was established by Government of India in 1963 under the aegis of United Nations Development Project (UNDP) and International Labour Organisation (ILO).

The main purpose behind its set up was to enhance the productivity of various industries across the country through the supply of trained and efficient manpower.

The Institute teaches materials management, work studies, inventory control, shop floor management and personnel management to India's industry professionals. Today, the institute is counted as one of the leading management education providers in the country. Every year, nearly 2000 professionals enroll in its various programs.

However, imparting education is not the sole task carried out by NITIE. The institute also provides industrial consultancy and publishes a quarterly magazine named UDYOG PRAGATI: The Journal for Practising, comprising of articles pertaining to the developments in the field of industrial engineering besides it.

  • Issue of Brochure & Online Application begins: 20th February 2012
  • Last Date for receipt of complete application: 6th April, 2012
  • GD & PI for PGDIE at NITIE on 9,10 & 11 May 2023

Admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM), Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM), and Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology Management (PGDITM) is done through CAT score.

  • Online Application Begins: February 22, 2024
  • Last Date of Submission: April 06, 2023
  • GD/PI round: May 09 2012 to May 11, 2023
  • Academic Session starts: June 18, 2023

  • Online Application Process Begins: October 11,  2011
  • Last date for submitting application through the Online portal: December 12, 2023
  • Last date for recieving hard copy of application by post: December 30, 2023
  • Last date for Reciept of Photocopy/ Printout of CAT Score Card: February 04, 2024
  • Group Discussion and Personal Interview: March 2012
  • Course Begins: June 2012

NITIE 2012 Eligibility Criteria

The PGDIE program is open to only those engineering graduates who have passed their graduation in first division and have at least 85 percentile score in GATE exam.

NITIE 2012 Selection Process

The selection is done on the basis of GATE score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

How to Reach NITIE Mumbai

NITIE is located in Powai area of Mumbai and is at a distance of 4 km from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Mumbai is well connected through rest of the country by Rail, Road and Air.

By Air : NITIE can be reached by air too. Daily various flights operate to Mumbai from various cities. One can get down at the Mumbai airport (either domestic or international) and take a direct taxi or auto from there. While the taxi from the international airport would cost one between Rs. 75 and Rs. 100, one has to shell out anywhere between Rs. 150 and Rs. 250 for boarding the taxi for the same distance from the domestic airport. The auto rickshaw, on the other hand, would charge Rs.100.

By Rail : Mumbai is well connected by the rail route to the rest of the country. Hence reaching Mumbai through any of the cities by rail is a smooth journey.

By Road : Mumbai is well connected to rest of the country by a network of highways. It has good public bus system too for reaching anywhere in the city. Besides buses, the city has a huge fleet of taxis that run on meters.
